First
of all,
no I have
not wrecked the
van! In
fact, the
driving has been
going quite well.
(Click here to see the hand controls.) All
of my work
and meetings are
in Houston,
so I spend
most of my driving
time on the
freeways here.
There is a
certain stretch of
road on I
10 here in
Houston that goes
under two major
freeways (I
45 and 59 for
those of you
in the know).
It is so
funny… Every
time I make
it under these
the freeways without
veering into another
lane, I
expect everyone driving
around me to
smile at me
and applaud.
I seem to
forget that to
them I'm just
another car on
road.
I met
a young 18
year old man
named Chris who had
been in a
car accident and
received the same
injury as myself.
It is amazing
how relative things
are. Unfortunately,
he has no
movement of his
shoulders or arms.
Because of this,
his world is
quite different than
mine. Whereas I can
drive a car
and do many
things by myself,
Chris will need
help doing virtually
everything.
Of course,
Christopher Reeves would
say at least he's
not on a
ventilator.
The interesting point
is: if
we think we
have it better than
someone else then
we do;
if we think we
have it worse,
then that's true
as well.
Our perception is
our reality.
As for Jill and I,
we consider ourselves
blessed and in
great favor with the
Lord.
He has poured his
favor on our
home and will
continue to do
so in the
future.
I encourage everyone
to speak these types
of blessings over
your life as
well.
Changing your reality
is as easy
as changing your
perception .
Quite a
few of you have
asked about the
testimony that I
will be giving
in church. I
don't know the
date yet but will
be sure to
send out an
e-mail when I
do know. It
also looks like
I'll be giving
that same testimony
up in Tyler, Texas
sometime soon. I will email
that date as
well.
On this same
topic, many
of you have
had your organizations
and churches praying
for us.
Please let me
know if there
is any interest in
having me give
my testimony.
Jill and I
are forever grateful
to those of
you that have
been with us this
through this ordeal
and would like to
give back to
you, your
families, and
your churches.
Luke 10:41-42, "You are worried and
upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Choose what is
better and it will not be taken from you."
Correction from last month: Jeremiah 10:23 – “I know, Oh Lord, that a
man’s life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his
steps."
