[For those of you encouraging my literary career, take a look at this : "I  Remember"]

Today is the most miserable day of the year.  It has been raining for 24 hours straight with a high of 40 degrees.  You guessed it. . .  Today is Jill’s baby shower! In fact, I am just about to head up there.  I am almost afraid to go just in case no one showed up because of the  weather. [Just got back.  It turns out that almost everyone showed up!]  We are very grateful to Danelle, Melissa, and Jill’s mom for putting this together.  The pregnancy is going great with only three weeks left.  Be sure to check out the picture of Jill's belly on the homepage!

We flew out to Miami, and I was able to ride the electronic bicycle.  Here is a picture of me on the bike.  The unique thing about this bicycle is that my muscles do the pedaling.  Electrodes are placed on my thighs, hamstrings, and glutes.  A computer then sends a electronic signal to the appropriate muscle group based on where the pedals are.  It doesn't work for everyone.  However, I was able to ride the bike for 20 minutes! It was fantastic! Since I have most of my sensation, I was able to feel myself pedaling.  It has almost been three years since I have felt those muscles do anything useful.

The best part of the whole experience was having the endorphins and serotonin flow to my brain.  For six hours, I did not have one spasm.  Jill and I sat outside and ate finger food in the sunshine until we popped!  As I went to sleep that night, I thought there was something wrong with my leg because of a bump that was sticking off of the top of my thigh.  It turns out that it was just my muscle!

We trust you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!.  We would love to hear your vote on boy vs. girl...

Matthew 6:34 "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
